So all blog posts in future will be from there, so feel free to head over and check it out for news on competitions, special offers and what the bunnies and myself have been up to :)
Well Halloween did not disappoint! I had a fantastic night out with some fantastic friends :)
We headed to Techniquest which is a Science Discovery center in Cardiff Bay which has an adults only after hours evening every so often, it's the third time I've been, but the first in fancy dress! It's the sort of place that makes your want kids, just so you have an excuse to go, but now I know about the adult evenings we should be alright ;)
So here's the only pic I actually managed to get of me, and of course it was at the end of the night with a lovely Tesco in the background! I suppose thats the problem being the one with the camera!
I've had a hectic week running workshops in the museum but spent today getting all caught up on orders and now I just have to finish my costume for tonight!
And of course in the interest of finding a costume I had to look back over some old pics and thought I'd share :) Some are Halloween some are just other excuses I found to dress up :)
Woohoo Happy Halloween!
Our Apt a few year ago
My Parents, it's not just me that loves fancy dress :)
So would you like to introduce yourself? Hi my name is Silver Paw, like most Polar Bears I am originally from Canada but somehow after a very very long swim I ended up in Cardiff as a model for silver jewellery. Life's just strange like that!
What was your early life like? Do you have any family?
For the first two and a half years of my life I lived with my mother and my twin brother; I never knew my Dad. We spent our time roaming across the ice in Northern Canada and learning to swim and hunt and to look out for other bears.
But you didn't stay there?
Neither of them supported my dream to be a model and since I knew how to fend for myself I took off on a long swim through the Arctic Ocean; stopping for a few snacks along the way of course, and I haven't seen either of them since. Just wait till they see me on billboards! That'll show them!
It definitely will! So you always wanted to be a model?
Ye since I was a little cub and I first saw the CocaCola Christmas adds, I thought if that guy could do it, so could I. My mother even told me that's my Dad, but I'm not sure I believe her.
Oh so modelling might be in the family.
Maybe, you never know ;)
So on the rare occasion you have some free time between photo shoots, what do you get up to?
Oh you know, the normal, hanging out with friends, catching a seal or two, watching a movie. Mostly I love to swim and well very few people know this about me, but I loooooove to dance! the interviewer later went onto youtube and found a clip of Silver Paw dancing away, perhaps Strictly come dancing will be the next step in his stellar career!
So what's next for you?
First up will be more modelling for Fragment Designs of course, I hear there may be a few more additions to the Rose range as well as a few other top secret projects. After that I might take some time off, maybe do a charity swim or two, and then see if I can get into acting.
Well good luck, it's been great talking to you, hope it goes great!
Lovely talking to you too, enjoy the rest of your day.
In my spare time I like to swim, a lot! but what most people don't realise is I like to dance and sing too!
I got to spend Saturday back in the Made in Britain shop in Bristol, and it was fun! You could really see that people are starting to think about Christmas and presents for their friends because insanely it's only 10 weeks till Christmas! And I have nothing ready! I'm still focused on Halloween (which is of course the vastly superior holiday) and trying to think of a costume! Sigh!
However I do think I will be getting a good few of my prezzies for people from the Made in Britain shop, it's hard to be surrounded by it all day and not buy! So I took lots of pics for you guys to look at, and if you're in the Bristol area tomorrow, pop by the shop and say hello :) We're in Cabot Circus next to Carluccios.
Just over 6 hours left to name this little guy for a chance to win your choice of rose cuff links, pendant or earrings. Competition finishes at 5pm GMT and I'll announce the winner tomorrow. Comment with his name here, on the original blog post or on my facebooktwitter or google + pages.
So to get you thinking, here's a few facts about Polar Bears:
Polar Bears actually have black skin and colourless thick hollow hairs which reflect light making them look white!
When they're first born a baby Polar Bear is about the size of an adult Guinea Pig....they get a little bigger though :p
Polar Bears have been known to swim 100miles in one go!
So new veg box yesterday :) went with the fruit and veg option and really glad I did, the oranges are amazing! The pears are pretty damn good too!
Ordered some cape gooseberries as extra to see if I like them since I'm thinking of growing them; which seemed like it would be a little silly if I don't like them, I'm not sure yet to be honest. But I have a full box to decide and either way they are adorable! ...thats what's important in a food right?
But I also got this thing....
And I need help, what do I do with it?
It looks well cool!!!
And don't forget my competition running on yesterdays blog until Wed. click here to enter.
So if you've been following me over the last few years you'll have noticed that my photos have changed quite a lot, I hope for the better
Originally I had Orla and GrĂ¡inne my real life bunnies as models but lately they've been on strike and I've opted for these little guys.
This week now I've added an Otter, a pig and a Polar Bear, all of which feature in the pictures for my new Rose range or pendants and cuff links, to match my existing earrings.
But all these poor little guys are nameless! So over the next few weeks I'm going to be running some competitions to get you guys to pick their names, and while the competition is on I'm going to be posting information about that type of animal...mostly cause I like to learn stuff :)
So starting NOW with this cute little Polar Bear, give him a name. And since my Rose range is brand new the prize will be your choice of Pendant, Cuff links or Earrings.
To enter simply comment here, facebook. twitter or on google+ with your choice of name for the little fella and which prize you would like, and please follow or like my page so I can find you if you win.
The competition is open until 5pm GMT Wed the 16th October, and I'll be picking the name I like the best for my little bear, but the winner will be drawn at random so I can't be accused of favoritism.
Saturday was my first day in the Made in Britain shop, and it was great fun! Lots of lovely people in and lots of things I want to buy now for myself, ...I mean for Christmas prezzies. It really is worth a visit.
It was a full on day so I didn't get a chance to visit the Paper Scissors Stone shop or the Print shop, but intend to pop in early for a few of my mid week shifts so I can plot the rest of my present shopping. So here's a few pics, unfortunately taken with my phone so they don't show the shop in its full glory, I'll try harder next time.
I've been a very very busy bee this last month, getting organised for some exciting new ventures.
First up I am now involved and selling in the Made in Britain shop in Bristol, if you're in the area check it out, there is some amazing stuff there and it's all very classy and fun. If you do make it in my stuff is in a glass cabinet near the till and it's full of bunnies and dinosaurs and stags and hummingbirds :)
I'm really excited about the shop (which is open everyday now until Christmas eve) because I actually get to go and staff the shop for a few days over the next few months, which means I actually get to meet customers! Wooohoo!
I did a lot of retail work when I was younger and I loved it, but it's been a while. I love the freedom of selling online and getting emails and feedback make me smile, but I'm really excited to actually meet some customers face to face :)
So I'll leave you with a few pictures of the stuff I have for sale in Made in Britain and a link to their facebook group. If you're anywhere in the Bristol area in the next few months come on over to Cabot Circus, Quakers Friars and check us out, and it's worth checking out sister shops, Paper Scissors Stone and The Print Shop just next door too.
Oooh I'm loving this whole veg box thing! Got our third one today and it came with a fruit box as a nice surprise! I do like being spolit!
Conan is out today so haven't told him about the watermelon but he looooooooooooves watermelon so I know that'll go down well. The bunnies might just fight me for the bananas and despite my usual aversion to raspberries on account of a summer spent picking the @£$%"^ (excuse my language) I have to admit I tried them this morning and they're yummy!
Of course got our normal veg box too, and we've upgraded slightly to the one that doesn't come with spuds, since we weren't really using them but of course once we did that I found a really nice potato salad to use! Typical! We did get more broad beans though and seriously guys I need some help! I've tried a few recipes and I'm just not feeling it! They're sooooo boring! Anyone got any good ideas? We still have a few turnips left from the last box too so help there as well please!
Very happy to see the cherry tomatoes in the box, as far as I'm concerned they have been the highlight of the whole thing so far, I think tomatoes are one of the things that you can really really taste when they're good. Also got lots of spinach which I love and the carrot tops are already being very very well received by the bunnies!
Nom nom!
I think Orla thought the camera was a little distracting, she doesn't like being watched while she eats.
GrĂ¡inne doesn't care, carrot tops too delicious to care!
The only problem is I've not room in my fridge! So I think I'm going to have to do a LOT of eating this week. Woe is me! My life is so hard!
So as you probably gathered by now, we live in Cardiff, Wales, it’s a lovely city, but like most cities it has it’s nice areas and dodgy areas. We live somewhere in the middle, but very close to one of the so called dodgy areas. But I love where we live! Our closest shops; post office, health food shop, veg shop, pharmacy, pet shop, and take aways; pretty much everything we need, are on Clifton Street, it’s a strange street, it looks a bit run down, and I’ve heard some people say they’re scared to walk down it, but personally I've only met nice people there. The people in the shops are always lovely and can have a bit of a natter; which for someone that works at home alone is absolutely brilliant! I would be lost without the banter!
But a few weeks ago, Clifton Street went above and beyond, when the circus came to town. I might point out though this was no ordinary silly circus this was No Fit State (look them up) think Welsh circ du soleil.
I went down with a friend to check it out and despite the rain, it was really, really, really good fun! So here’s a few pics, and I for one can’t wait for No Fit State to open in the four elms!
If you’re feeling generous they still need a little bit of a help out, click here for more details.
